Graduation Card with More Than One Fold

Happy Saturday and welcome!

A new theme starts today at Allsorts challenge and Liz is hosting this week. For her optional theme she selected "More Than One Fold" but it's just an option as all of your new crafty makes (up to 3) are welcome and we'd love to see them. All will be entered into the prize drawing or considered for the Top 5. Prizes for weeks 778 and 779 come from Oakwood and Highlight Crafts. Look for the winners post on the last Friday of the month.

I don't often make cards with more than one fold but there is no denying that there is something special about those fancy folds. And since my daughter is graduating from Highschool later this month I thought she would appreciate a fancy fold card so that is what I made :)

I combined stamps from Visible Image and Aall and Create.

My image panel was started with a smooshed background using Picked Raspberry and Blueprint Sketch Distress inks. Next I stamped the clocks from the Aall and Create set Clocks and Flowers using SU's Bashful Blue ink. The typewriter and "...next chapter" stamps are from the Visible Image set One Kind Word. The Aall and Create bird from the set Follow Your Own Path was stamped on a separate piece of card stock then colored and fussy cut. I wanted to stay with a blue and pink color combo so I only used those colors along with black soot ink to color the bird. I added a circle die cut for a little more interest then added the bird with foam tape. The little bird on the right side is also from the Aall and create set Follow your own path.

"Congratulations" and "Happy Graduation" sentiments are oldies from Whimsy stamps.

A view from the side:
And here is the inside. I managed to get a small ink blodge inside while inking around the edges and so I decided to use a stencil by Stampers Anonymous to add more blodges :) I also used another stamp from the Follow Your Own Path set on the bottom right stamped with light blue ink.

I'm sure most of you are familiar with the Easel card fold, but if you're looking for instructions you can find them here at Splitcoast Stampers. Mine is a little larger than the card in the tutorial and measures 6" square when closed so I started out with a 6x12 inch cardstock piece for the base which I scored at 6" and 3", then added my card front and the inside. I definitely think the easel card style is one of the easier "fancy folds" so if you have never tried it I do recommend giving this one a try.

Lily of the Valley for Four Seasons May Challenge

Happy first day of May and thank you so much for stopping by! A new month means a new challenge starts at the Four Seasons challenge blog. I've also posted the May Crafty Wednesday challenge right below this post or you can click here if you're visiting for that challenge.

It's time for another beautiful spring moodboard at the Four Seasons challenge but its use is optional as Anything Spring Goes

Here is what I made inspired by the pretty pink Lily of the Valley looking image and I chose this opportunity to ink up the new to me stamp from Aall and Create.

I started out by smooshing green Distress Oxide inks onto the background (Twisted Citron and Rustic Wilderness) then stamped the Lily of the Valley from the Aall and Create set Elegant Spring Florals #623 for the focal point. For a little more background interest I used more stamps from Aall and Create (Foliage #496, Blackbird #530 and Elegant Spring Florals #623). The Lily of the Valley text is part of the Elegant Spring Florals set and sentiment "Especially for You" is from the Penny Black Set Blooming Sentiments.

I added sticky enamel dots, matted onto black cardstock and then onto a white card base to complete the card.

Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday - May Challenge

Hello and welcome to Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday May challenge taking place right here on my blog! I'm so glad you stopped by today and hope you'll share your own crafty make(s) this month too. The linky tool is at the end of the post. There were many wonderful entries last month so make to scroll down to see who made the Top 3!

As most of you know, the theme is now always ....

Anything Goes

and instead of a challenge theme there will be a "Top Pick Twist", meaning I will select a twist from all of the entries for the Top 3. Nobody will know what the twist will be (not even me) until the end of the challenge. So do link up all of your crafty makes, your entry might be the one inspiring the Top Pick twist :)

And here is my share for this month a little bit inspired by a top pick :)

I started with washi tape around the image panel then inked with Fired Brick Distress ink and a mini tile stencil by Stampers Anonymous (sorry I can't find a link). After removing the washi tape I stamped the poppy image (Penny Black Brilliant) and colored with Worn Lipstick Distress ink. I wanted to add a little more interest so I cut the frame with Penny Black's Frames die set then stamped and fussy cut that one blossom and added to the card with foam tape. The sentiment is from the Penny Black set Blooming Sentiments and I added black enamel dots along with some stickles glitter to finish it off.

Hello Sunshine

Happy Saturday and welcome! I have a new card to share today for our new theme at Allsorts challenge. This week Dena is our host and she selected "Stencils" as her optional theme. I love using stencils! But as mentioned it's optional so if stencils aren't your thing you may still join us with up to 3 new creations of any kind. We have prizes from Oakwood and Highlight Crafts for challenges 778 and 779. Winners will be announced at the end of May as this challenge ends in May. (Remember to check the challenge blog for the April winners if you haven't already!)

This daisy stamp is brand new to me, the purchase was inspired by my blogging friend Pauline so I decided to ink it up for today's card. It's from the set Daisy Grunge by Visible Image.

My sketch was very much inspired by the current Try a Sketch On Tuesday challenge. I just wish I had used a larger circle mask.

I started out by inking the negative of a circle die cut using Stampin Up ink then used my Circle Explosion stencil over the inked circle. After removing the circle mask I decided to add more circles onto the rest of the card so I continued with the same stencils but a lighter touch of ink.

The daisy was stamped on a scrap piece of card stock and fussy cut and I only colored the center of the flower. Sentiment is part of the same stamp set. To finish off this CAS card I added stickles glitter to the flower and black enamel dots

Shower of Flowers

Happy Saturday and welcome! It's the start of a new theme at Allsorts challenge and Mervi is hosting this week. Her optional theme is a real fun one ... Balloons. Of course you can choose our "anything goes" option if you don't have any balloon stamps or if you don't like balloons. All will be entered into the prize drawing as long as you follow our simple rules. Prizes are from AALL and Create for challenges 776/777 and winners will be announced as usual at the end of the month.

I had lots of fun creating for this challenge especially looking through my stamps to select which one to use. I had no idea that I had so many stamps which included balloons and completely forgot I had this one which I purchased sometime last year from eBay during a time when I purchased several wood mounted PB stamps. This one is a real oldie from the year 2000, that makes it 24 years old!!! I did just find it listed by Lighthouse Books and Gifts in their Amazon shop. Currently they still have 3 in stock brand new, mine came from eBay well loved with black ink all over the wood block but it still stamps beautifully :)

I started out with a My Favorite Things rectangle stencil set and inked the inside of the rectangle using Tumbled Glass and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide inks. Removed the mask then stamped this cute image - Penny Black Shower of Flowers - using Memento Tuxedo ink. I used my Copic markers for coloring. I did stamp the mouse and balloon on a scrap pieces (the balloon on a scrap piece I had inked with Wilted Violet  and used a polka dot stencil with Villianous Potion ink). I fussy cut both the balloon and little mouse, then added to the card with foam tape. Lots of stickles glitter was applied to the many flowers and balloon for some sparkle.

The sentiment is from the Penny Black clear set Friendship (also available from Lighthouse Books and Gifts on Amazon). I simply added a white card base for a CAS style.

I Spy With My Little Eye ........... Something With Wings (Challenge No. 14)

Hello everyone and welcome to a new "I spy with my little eye" challenge taking place right here on my blog. Pauline and I are back with a new theme and we hope to see you playing along with us this month. There weren't too many entrants last month but some still really beautiful creations so be sure to scroll down to see who made the Top 2, both being invited to join us as guest designers for the next challenge.

This time around it's Pauline's turn to select a theme and it is:

I spy with my little eye..........

Something with Wings.

So many options here and we can't wait to see what you will come up with! The linky tool is at the end of the post but first up are our creations to inspire you.

I started with a previously "smooshed" background from my box of extras, then stamped the Penny Black bird image (Bird's Eye View) and colored with a mix of Zig Clean Color and Distress inks. On the background I stamped some details and wording using the Aall and Create set Follow Your Own Path. That set is a bit grungy and I'm not sure the delicate PB bird image is a good match for the grungy Aall and Create background stamping and sentiments but decided it's not a complete fail so here it is :) I found the diamond die cut pieces in my box of die cut scraps (made with the PB Diamond Border die) so added them to the card. With the grungy additions I decided the edges needed a little bit of distressing so that's what I did before adhering to the card base.

I am entering my card (above) to these challenges:

Easter came early this year and I am not done creating with bunnies (luckily not all bunny stamps are Easter themed!!) and I am featuring some cute Lavinia hares (Whimsical Hares, Pipin) on today's card. I started out using the "negative" of a circle die then parcially inked inside the circle and created hills using a paper mask. I also used a Lavinia stencil (Feather Leaf) although it's hard to tell. The flowers are Lavinia's Lavender stamp, stamped in Picked Raspberry and Shaded Lilac.

Related Products:

The springtime sentiment is a Penny Black wood mounted stamp (old and no longer available), a favorite for spring. Smile Dream Love is from the Penny Black clear set Dream. Love. Sentiments. I finished off the card with some die cut butterflies using the PB die set Soaring and black enamel dots.

Thanks so much for visiting, I hope you're having a wonderful weekend.
